If you know why my icon's cool, you'll know why it's the coolest icon ever.

I know what it is (2D barcode, eg QR code) but I never learned to read the codes manually and I'm not sure it gets to be uncontestably the coolest icon ever just by being machine readable.

Knowing what it is doesn't make it cool any more than a DVD or CD in and of itself is cool.

It's what's it contains that makes it so cool. And, anyway, it's not like you don't need a machine to read my LJ anyway....

Re: THE ANSWER...

That is VERY cool! I had another comment I wanted to make, but I wanted to do it as a "hightlight to view" since it would sort of give away your answer, but I can't make it work here ... which is very odd as it works in my own journal when I test it. Well, YOU at least can probably read it in the email alerts you'll have undoubtedly gotten each time I've edited. Oh well ...

Re: THE ANSWER...

Hey, how did you make this appear to be an answer when the comment it's answering is down there?

*>(...looks shifty...)<*

Okay, so as not to spoil the fun, I'm going to explain below, but you'll have to highlight the space below in order to see/read the answer:

The is a QR code, a kind of barcode becoming more popular, and can be read with many smart-phones. The fun part is, when you scan it with your smartphone, it's my drabble "Losing a Dragon," which can be read at TQP or other fic sites. The whole story is right there, in that funny little block of black-and-white squares.

How cool is that?

That is totally cool! What's weird is, just after posting my comment, I went out to buy pansies and on their container was one of these barcodes. So I had a clue by the time I got home. *g*
