Third Mile

Posted on 2007.05.25 at 08:31
These little video blog-posts seem popular, so here's another one, taken this morning.

Yes, alana_eldora, I'm sorry, but the beard has been clipped back. It will return, as I'm too friggin lazy to maintain it.

As for my near-Lovecraftian Evil, mentioned in the video, One day, I'll explain the cruelty of saying to j_on_lj, "Jeff! Quick, quick, quick! Channel 68, CHannel 68, Quick!"

They're quite fun, and give us a little insight into you're life.

Why don't you ask for imaginary kisses from your F list....at least you know they're virtually real. (like my angels)

Oh, the OTHIG is real enough for me. I need the focus, the one, single firm focus.

This icon was made by a wonderful friend, who means the world to me. Didn't she do a great job?

Thanks for the support, and the lovely little smooch!

It's a close crop of my face from the pic that yielded this icon.

A lovely gift from a lovely friend.

Thanks so much for the support! It's all appreciated.

Well, it's going to be a pendulum swing between pleasing you and alana_eldora then, because I let it get big and then get sick of cleaning food out of it, and trim it in close.

La Vie!!!

Dude!!! 3rd mile, and you are smoking it through it!!

Any of the elusive endorphins rushing yet??
I always feel cheated if I don't, because they all but promise you a rush if you exercise.
Wicked good plan with the tunes, way to keep yourself motivated.

***Hermione and Tonks wave pompoms chanting*******"Jon's got spirit, yes he do, Jon's got spirit how bout you?? Gooooo Jon!!!"

Re: La Vie!!!

I'm definitely not working it hard enough for an endorphin rush. I'm satisfied, at this point not to be getting bruises on my chest from the paramedics performing CPR!

All Hail the songs of Geoff Wade! Here are five of the six that get me through my mile:

Anita
Rachel Reminiscing
Blood In The Sand
The Wrong Thing (The Stalker Song)
The Biker Song

Between Geoff, the wonderful expanding cheering section, and the OTHIG, I'm keepin' on.

Thanks so much for the good cheer and support, Mel. I appreciate it.

You are totally rocking those miles, my dear friend! Your OTHIG must be quite the gal for you to be moving your booty and getting faster each time! I'm so very proud of you and I'll continue to be your cheerleader, as you will continue to be my inspiration! ::hugs::

The thing is, I'm not thinking about speed ot miles, not while I'm doing it. That's too long-term. I'm thining about that next step, and the next step, and the next step. And, on those occasions when I want to say, "Fuck it," and just head fro teh car and drive away, I think about how I'll feel turning that last corner, head back to the car when my half-hour, or my mile, is done, see the pride and happiness in those amazing eyes, feel those arms sliding around me, the soft warmth of her mouth against mine. I think about that, and the extraordinary girl who's waiting in spirit, if not in body, for me to complete that course... I think about the mix of sympathy and disappointment I'd see in those amazing eyes if I turned back early, and I'd crawl on my belly over six miles of broken glass not to see that! And that gets me through to the end of my course.

I'm late to this video thing, but just wanted to say "go, go, go!" I'm a horrible exerciser and know I need to do it before I turn into a crotchety old woman with back pain (I'm actually about to turn 39 but sometimes my back turns me into a crotchety old woman!). But any incentive or encouragement is always helpful, so "go, go, go!". :)

I have a friend who discovered biking a few years ago and now logs in 50 miles/week, between fun rides and commuting. He's never looked better and he feels great. I envy him that hobby, partly because I would never get on a bike in the traffic where I live, and beause my back problems are exacerbated by the biking position, but also because he has found something he enjoys that has given so many benefits. I need to find something like that.

So hopefully walking will do that for you, and I hope I'll find something like that for me!

I tried biking a few years ago. I found the combination of four hundred pounds, the thin, hard surface of a bicycle seat, and the post-pubescent position of certain glandular organs enough to be prohibitive of that hobby.
