Spousal Innards Update

Posted on 2009.01.05 at 10:57
Just heard from the surgeon: Operation is completed successfully, and Cindy will be in recovery for about 90 minutes, then moved to a room where I can see her.

The Bypass went flawlessly, and while they were in there, they removed her gallbladder, with which she had had previous problems, and found FIFTY-FIVE gallstones in it!

All is well.

Just saw both your posts, so I'm a bit late for wishing her well, but I'm really happy to hear that it went well ... and sounds like it was a good thing they removed the gallbladder while they were there!

I'll keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery. A couple very good friends of mine had that surgery in the latter part of 2008 and both are doing very well.

YAY!! For a successful operation! The removal of the Gall Bladder (and all its extra growths) should be just as helpful as the surgery itself!

Speedy Recovery to her!

Wonderful news!

Did they let you keep the gallstones? My Mum has a jar full, and I have my giant rock. They are awesome. XD

Yeah, for Cindy's successful surgery! That is a lot of gallstones, it must have been horrible before having her gallbladder removed. Wishing her a fast and smooth recovery!

Oh my.

I'd send her lots of hugs but I don't think she's going to be up for any hugs for a while. Seriously, I second i_m_b00; if she was carrying around that many gallstones and hasn't killed she really is a candidate for some form of sainthood! Gastric bypass op is a major one to start with and then to have such a nasty gallbladder too... Ultimately I'm sure she'll feel much better, which is the most important thing.

Keep us updated, but don't take any time away from her to do it (unless of course she is like my hubby and wants to be left alone when not well - then I expect to see lots of posts for a while )

All our prayers, best wishes and the kitties send lots of purrs.

What? Did I miss a post from earlier? I'm so glad to hear it went well. It's amazing how that type of surgery has almost become mundane as getting your tonsills out. My mother's went effortlessly as well. Unfortunately the scar bugged her til the end. *crosses fingers Cindy won't have that issue* Again very happy to hear she's alright. *hugs*

Well shit. I was thinking of a whole different "bypass." So just forget what I said other than, hopes her recovery goes well.
