Canon Help Needed

Posted on 2006.12.18 at 10:13
A quick Google, Wiki, and HP Lexicon search has yielded no answers, so...

Is there a canon sighting of Fred and George Weasley's patronuses? (Patroni?) If so, what are they?

Is there a widely used Fanon version? What's that?

This will be a very big help in Chapter Eleven of Unbreakable Bond, "Sunday in the Park with Fred and George." Many thanks!

you know, I was thinking that hyenas may be a good one or a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monKEY?)

I don't think it is mentioned in canon at all...their NEWTS weren't mentioned and they weren't noticed by Harry in the DA meeting where they conjured them. So I would think you could just use your imagination

The Twins Patronus were not mentioned in canon at all.

I have no idea what it would be.

That's the best news I could ask for!

OMG, you're bringing Fred and George into it now...
Yep, sides will be split from laughter. Can't wait!

How could I leave out the twins? It can't be done.

It's not mentioned in cannon but I have seen it as weasles in many fan fic storys.

Hmmm.... Not so sure about using Weasels... I'm kind of tempted to be really silly and have them be really different, but connected and comedic. A Meerkat and a Warthog, perhaps. (Although I don't know why I keep dropping in all these Disney references, when I'm really not a fan...)

Racoons. I vote for racoons, though I'm probably too late.

OK, so I think squirrels are cute, and they are also available in ginger!

Re: Nuts!

So you want Fred and George to have Patronuses that run in randomly-changed directions and dive in front of cars?

Re: Nuts!

I think perhaps you have had some bad experiences with squirrels ;-(

You can, and should, of course, do what you like, but IMHO I think it would be good if the twins Patroni matched and were as hard to tell apart as Gred and Forge themselves are. I think that is how they would want it to be.

Since there is no mention in canon, I can't wait to see what you end up making them.

BTW, I just thought I'd stop by and say hello (oh, and could you please add me to your "locked friends group", pretty please???) since I leave you comments on TQP after nearly every chapter. Don't be a stranger. :o)

Anxiously waiting for the next chapter of unbreakable bond... ::Risie sighs, grumbles, and supposes she should get cracking on the next chapter of Wake Me in the meantime::

Re: Woohoo!

OK, you're in. The advantage at this point is limited, as I've got nothing of "Unbreakable" up here anymore that I haven't got posted at TQP, but welcome you are nonetheless!

Re: Woohoo!

At any rate, thanks very much.

Is it as blustery over on the East Coast as it is on the West Coast today? I swear, I thought I was going to be taken up in a wind gust.

Take care.
