Me and Mandy

The Bear-Shaped Dog is home!

Mandy came through her surgery just fine. I picked her up on the way home from work.

When I arrived at the Vet's office they had her in a cone, but she's not bothering her bandages at all, so the vet took it off her.

They want her back on Thursday, to take another look at the incision. The vet said there's not a lot of skin to work with where the lump was so it's "stretched pretty tight." I'm assuming that skin went with the lump.

She's home now and happy, and curled up near where I sit typing this. Smiling Leviathan.

I wonder if I can get away with instituting "Bring your doggy to work day..."

Oh, that's great! I thought about Mandy today at uni. Even though she can't understand us, it's got to pretty damn clear to her now that you were never going to abandon her.

Any idea when the testresults get in?

my old boss used to bring her dogs to work with her all the time. If I thought mine could behgave for 8 hours I would ask my boss.

I'm passing on all these Hugs to Mandy. She's liking it. I can't pass on her response though, because the time and expense involved in circling the globe to lick people's nostrils is just not on!

She's glad to be home, too. And takes her meds like a champ! After years of cat-pilling injuries, this is such a thrill for me!

That's great! I'm so glad the surgery went well and that Mandy is home again.

*pets Mandy*

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news at the followup appointment.

Oh, I'm so glad that she's okay! How long will it take before we know the results of the lump? Oh, gosh, I really hope that it's nothing major. Please give Mandy a hug from me (oh, and give one to your wife, who probably needs one after her baby had to go to the vet today!).

::hugs my darling::

Mandy is totally a part of our family, just as the cats are and we love her to pieces.

Scritches for Mandy girl behind the ears! And a tummy rub!

I'm totally with you on the leaving the dog at the kennel thing. We have two dogs (plus two cats, two fish and a lizard) and both are from the Humane Society. Testimony, a lab/dalmation mix, lived with his first family for three years when their apartment building was sold and a no-pets policy put into effect. But that's better than what happened to our other dog, TJ. The person who brought him in said she saw a car pull over to the side of the road, push him out, and drive away.

So glad you got your girl back and I'm hoping all goes well.

And there (really was) much rejoycing!

I can picture Mandy’s reaction when she saw you were there to pick her up:

You came back? 8-?
* less than half a beat passes *
* almost knocks herself over from wagging so hard *

Glad to hear she’s home and OK. Be sure to let us know as soon as you have the results back from the lab.

* pictures a Labrador retriever wearing glasses and a lab coat standing on hind legs and holding a test tube * (HBG channels Gary Larson again…)
