I'm late to this video thing, but just wanted to say "go, go, go!" I'm a horrible exerciser and know I need to do it before I turn into a crotchety old woman with back pain (I'm actually about to turn 39 but sometimes my back turns me into a crotchety old woman!). But any incentive or encouragement is always helpful, so "go, go, go!". :)

I have a friend who discovered biking a few years ago and now logs in 50 miles/week, between fun rides and commuting. He's never looked better and he feels great. I envy him that hobby, partly because I would never get on a bike in the traffic where I live, and beause my back problems are exacerbated by the biking position, but also because he has found something he enjoys that has given so many benefits. I need to find something like that.

So hopefully walking will do that for you, and I hope I'll find something like that for me!

I tried biking a few years ago. I found the combination of four hundred pounds, the thin, hard surface of a bicycle seat, and the post-pubescent position of certain glandular organs enough to be prohibitive of that hobby.

Uh, yeah, I can assume that would happen! An old friend once told me about a bike ride that went so long that everything went numb down there, which scared the crap out of him! (fortunately it was only temporary!)

Not to put too fine a point on it, but "Numb" would have been better than squeezing the, er, involved parts between a hard seat and four hundred pounds of me.

Ouch!
