Leviathan meets the Incredible Hulk

I'm snotty, and here are two quotes from "The West Wing"

Posted on 2007.08.29 at 09:39

Two Applicable Quotes from “The West Wing:”

Josh Lyman (quoting a presidential candidate's answer to "Why do you want to be President?"): We have the greatest technology of any people, of any country in the world, along with the greatest - not the greatest but very serious problems confronting our people. And I want to be President in order to focus on these problems in a way that uses the energy of our people to move us forwards, basically.
CJ Cregg: Yes!
Josh Lyman: It's the 'basically' that makes it art.

Josh Lyman and CJ Cregg, “Gone Quiet”

Sam Seaborn: Education is the silver bullet. Education is everything. We don’t need little changes, we need gigantic revolutionary changes. Schools should be palaces, competition for the best teachers should be fierce, and they should be making six-figure salaries. Schools should be incredibly expensive for government and absolutely free of charge to its citizens, just like national defence. I just haven’t figured out how to do it yet.

Sam Seaborn, “Six Meetings Before Lunch”

The above was totally unfair

That was totally embarrassing to watch.

It's sad, isn't it? I feel sort of guilty, like I'm laughing at a Parkinson's sufferer at a dance.

Overly. I'm ashamed I share a planet with this person.

You're both infinitely smarter and infinitely hotter.

that is beyond sad! I had heard about that, but hadn't seen the clip.

Apparently she came in Third. I have to wonder how the person in last place answered it...

#5 probably scored lowest in the swim suit competition. :)

At first i really felt bad for her. But then I remembered she did it to her self when she put her self is a pageant.

oh that makes me feel a bit better too :D

"And my goal is to become a Veterinarian, because I love children!"

So part of me cringes, and feels ashamed, because if her parents had spent as much time and money on her education instead of the work done on her teeth and body, she would know that "US Americans" need to follow Sam's advice.

And even while intellectual wanna-be me does the superior dance, the part that loved mindless dance music and dressed like a Cindy Lauper/Madonna clone in the 80's can understand that they should have never put a live mike in front of her in the first place.

Of course, this is the only lJ I talk on where I check dictionary.com and spell check... :0

Re: "And my goal is to become a Veterinarian, because I love children!"

And I can't emphasize enough the importance of properly selected vocables!

As an "US American" all I can say is "It's a good thing she is pretty because she doesn't have the brains god gave a brick"

My guess is that in 25 or so years, she'll bee the Republican nominee for President of us US Americans, as she seems to have learned her speakig -- and thinking -- skills from the current one.
layla372 at 2007-08-30 20:40 (UTC) (Link)
The sad part is you could very well be right about her.
sophiamaria03 at 2007-08-29 22:18 (UTC) (Link)
I happened to turn on the TV half way through her stirring response, not having any clue what I was tuning in to. I had given her the benefit of the doubt, not knowing the context or what she was "talking" about. Now that I've seen the whole thing, I'm really scared.

I didn't stick around long enough to see who won. I should look that up. Important trivia to know!

Many intelligent and well-educated people come out of South Carolina, and many stay there as well.

My guess is not a lot are in line for "Miss Teen USA."

And while it would not surprise me if, by his teenaged years, the Avatar was lined up for Miss Teen USA, that would be in a whole different sense, and, far more likely, she'd be lined up for him!
