Happy Birthday, John. I miss you, man.

This is, quite possibly, the greatest work of musical art ever created.

The video, not so much, and a bit literal, but I selected it because it's a strong creative work by a clearly very young director, who, born years after the Beatles came and went, yeas after John Lennon was shot and killed, was still moved to create by the power of the song.

So, on John Lennon's birthday, I thank the universe for giving him to us for a time, and I celebrate his life and work.

I think the '80s would've gone very differently with him in them. Hard to believe he'd be 67 now. RIP John Ono Lennon.

This song is so perfect, so transcendant. Its final chord has reverberated in the back of my head for 40 years and I still resonate to it.

Once, twenty years or so ago, I heard it playing on the radio, while I was at work at a factory, and the disk jockey, as that final chord faded oitu, slowly, slowly faded up the opening of "Good Day Sunshine." It was like teh chord hung so long it started to modulate, and sort of mutated into this whole other glorious Beatles song. So hearing two well-known songs playing on the radio at work bekame a transcendant experience of my life.

God bless and keep John. And I hope he's making trouble and rousing rabbles in Heaven!
