Leviathan meets the Incredible Hulk

Loss of a Mad Genius

Posted on 2008.02.11 at 19:04
When I was in High School, one of the very fiew things I considered absolutely essential readon was a comic book called "Howard the Duck." Pay no attention to the godawful movie, the comic was a work of genius. It owed a lot of that to stunning artwork by Val Mayerick and Gene Golan, among others. But it was mainly the work of Howard's creator, a brilliant writer and social satirist named Steve Gerber.

Mr. Gerber's career and adventures in comics are legendary... And he has passed away.

I wish the tidings were better. It's sad indeed to lose a giant like Steve Gerber.
